Silver Spoon Catering Loves The Holidays
It has been one crazy Holiday Season this year. I have been scurrying around with 60 hours a week at work and fitting in my catering and in between those two things trying to keep the holiday spirit by doing my best to give to those who are in need and those I love the most. One of my favorite things to do is to create thoughtful and meaningful handmade gifts for my loved ones.
This year we were blessed to have two friends in particular that sacrificed their own time, their sanity and family obligations to help us with child care as I went back to work and my husband at school. We wanted to make sure they knew our deep appreciation for their sacrifices. We decided I would put together a beautiful basket of all kinds of handmade goodies. The research alone was fun, to come up with all the things to be put included. There were times when I would think to my elf, "Self, are you crazy? What were you thinking when you decided to put this all together by hand?" I will admit it was a lot of labor to undertake when I was so busy with everything else which was going on in life at the time, but it was well worth it. It defiantly was a labor of love! Which at this time of year is the most gratifying, Right?
Some of the items that were included were home made gingerbread, vanilla, chocolate ganache for hot chocolate, handmade marshmallows, cranberry orange bread, hand made lemon coconut bar soap, recipe cards and a cute little picture frame set with Snowflakes in it. All tied together with beautiful gift tags and an ornament.
This was just a few of the things I included. .
This is the time of year to create and give of yourself. It was a sweet reward to my creative side.
